Central Jakarta Appeals Residents in Red Zone Areas to Worship at Home

Central Jakarta Government appealed residents in red zone area to temporarily worship at home in order to stop COVID-19 transmission due to increasing number of cases recently.

Not only prayers for Muslims, but also worship activities for other religions in COVID-19 red zone areas

Central Jakarta Assistant for Administration and People's Welfare, M. Fahmi stated, his side collaborated with number of city-level religious organizations to socialize and encourage residents to temporarily stop worship activities in worship places.

"Not only prayers for Muslims, but also worship activities for other religions in COVID-19 red zone areas," he asserted, Friday (6/25).

According to him, COVID-19 red zone area in Central Jakarta is only about 10 percent of total 4,608 RTs spread across 8 sub-districts.

"There are not many red zone areas in Central Jakarta, and it is still moving dynamically," he added.

For yellow and green zones, he mentioned, worship activities in worship places can be carried out with strict health protocol.

"Strict health protocol must be implemented well, from checking body temperature, limiting capacity up to 50 percent, washing hands with soap, wearing masks, and maintaining safe distance," he explained.
